Leave the poor data scientist alone

What comes to mind when we think of data scientists - lets be honest we all think of them as nerds who know way more math than any regular human should. However there is a tendency of expecting these geniuses to know not only neural networks but also be fully adept in knowing ROIs and sales strategies and margins.

Lets face it they don't. Most of them come from a background of dealing in complex maths and many of them are fairly fresh out of completing their second or third PhDs. Being up to speed on where and how these models benefits businesses is not what they have spent years mastering bayesian optimisations for.

Leave them in peace and let them do what they are good at and build a team around them because just hiring data scientists wont solve your problem of margin improvements or any other challenges in any part of your business
